About Helping Displaced Families Fleeing Insecurity in Haiti
Insecurity across Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, continues to rise. Over the course of just 4 days in November 2024, more than 20,000 Haitians were displaced. This scale of displacement is alarming and leaves so many Haitians without basic necessities like food, clean water, and shelter.
Deep systemic changes and interventions are needed to end this crisis, but we are committed to helping right here and right now. A plate of food during this crisis is worth more than a thousand promises of future aid. Immediate relief is desperately needed right now.
P4H will be collecting funds to support displaced families in the capital and in Cap-Haitien (the second largest city in Haiti and one of the top destinations for the displaced). We need your help. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to help 100 families in Port-au-Prince and in Cap-Haitien. Each family will directly receive $100 ($10,000 in total).
The additional $5,000 will be used to provide a hot meal (in PAP and CAP) and a mental health workshop (in CAP). Women and children (primary school age) will be prioritized for this initial relief effort.
Although $100 is not enough to cover all their needs, it is enough to show them that they are not alone. Will you consider sponsoring a family or two?
